The Newest Addition

I may be a little late to the ballgame but I figure at some point you’ve just got to show up and at least take a swing, so I’ve decided to join the twitter nation.  What’s twitter is probably the first thing you’re thinking.  Well, the funny way to sort of show you is to direct you to the brilliant new Sprint commercial:

But it might be easier to explain it to you.  Basically it’s a way to share what’s going on in 140 characters or less (that includes spaces which makes it so tough!).  What’s fun about this is that I can add it to our website’s sidebar (see MSM Tweets on the right hand column).  So now you can follow along with my day (which, really, why would you want to do that) and you can also follow along to new Middle School Ministry updates as well.

There are a couple of ways you can follow along with this.  First is to just come to our website and read the tweets at the right.  The second is to go to my twitters direct page by clicking here.  You can also follow twitters with your phones… but I only know how to do that with an iPhone (although I’m sure you could do it with almost any non 1999 cell-phone).

If you’ve got a Twitter account feel free to follow me and I’ll return the favor (if of course we actually know you). Wow, I think that’s all for this new addition.  I must say that I feel so hip (I wonder how long the feeling lasts?). Maybe I’ll even give Facebook a try later on…or maybe not.

*** It seems that (at least on my browser) the MSM Tweets sometimes have nothing listed.  My assumption is that this is a problem with the website widget and nothing I could fix.  If there’s nothing there (which there should be) you can always click MSM Tweets on the right and be redirected to the Twitter page.

A Great Bible Resource

A great new Middle School resource!

A great new Middle School resource!

I came across this a few days ago and wanted to pass it along to all of you.  Basically, it’s a dramatized version of the New Testament featuring some of Hollywood’s young and bright Christian actors and actresses.  Here’s the info available on the Word of Promise Next Generation website:

Now the entire New Testament is ready for the Wired Generation.

Today’s youth ingest media at a faster rate than any previous generation. And they can’t get enough! The Word of Promise: Next Generation – New Testament is the perfect way for young multi-taskers to absorb Scripture. This ambitious recording makes the Word accessible to more kids than ever before.

Starring a Hollywood-level cast of young talent including Cody Linley (Hanna Montana, Dancing with the Stars) as Jesus, AnnaSophia Robb (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as Mary Magdalene, Jordin Sparks (American Idol Winner) as Elizabeth, Cobin Bleu (High School Musical) as Peter, Alyson Stoner (Cheaper by the Dozen) as Martha, and narrated by Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings).    The project includes informative book introductions by author Max Lucado and his daughter, Jenna Lucado, who is a speaker on the Revolve® Tour.

The Word of Promise: Next Generation is much more than just a word-for-word reading: it’s an all-star cast performing audio drama with a rich original score and Hollywood special effects. When Jesus walks on the water, kids will feel like they’re in the boat. When Peter waits in the courtyard during the Lord’s trial, the fire will crackle. The ambient sounds of the Holy land, the breath-taking musical score, the world-class young actors and the timeless Word of Promise all combine to deliver an unparalleled achievement.

Set includes 24 hours of audio drama on 3 mp3 CDs and a bonus 75 minute Behind-the-Scenes DVD featuring interviews with the actors.

You can purchase this at our local Family Christian Bookstore or from Amazon.com.
